Sometimes it isn’t a fear of failure or your own negative thinking that gets in your way. It’s a failure to plan. Being bold and taking action is important, but first, you need to make sure you know where you’re going.
You can’t plan for every eventuality, but you should try and anticipate potential pitfalls as much as possible. You should build a timeline and set realistic goals so that you’re not overwhelmed. Along with that, you should decide on intermediate milestones to measure your progress along your path.
Planning isn’t about figuring everything out. It’s about creating a preliminary route to get you out the door and heading in the right direction. You can and should refine your plan to account for new information as you go. Plans are a guide, not a prediction, and treating them as the latter can get you in trouble.
