1)    Overview:


The “Broaden Program” is an internship program designed to provide graduate level students and/or recent post-graduates the opportunity to gain experience in a career path they are considering, within medical affairs at EMD Serono.


Prospective candidates should be pursuing a graduate degree in a field, such as biological sciences, bioengineering, medicine, chemistry, or pharmacy

2)    Internship:


Candidates, who are authorized to work in the US, may be offered a paid 3–4-month summer internship as part of EMD Serono's Broaden internship program. Selected candidates will be engaged as temporary workers through EMD Serono’s staffing agency, Randstad USA.    


We have two internship opportunities available for the summer 2025 cohort:


1.           Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) Internship: Support the development of HEOR projects including but not limited to systematic literature reviews (SLRs), real-world evidence (RWE) studies/database analyses, economic modeling, and other HEOR-related activities


2.           Scientific Communication Internship: We are seeking a dedicated and proactive intern to support our Scientific Communications team. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in bolstering activities across various functions including, but not limited to Medical Information, Medical Publications, Medical Review, and Digital. This position provides a unique opportunity to immerse oneself in the multifaceted world of medical affairs and scientific communications, gaining hands-on experience and insights.


 


 3)    Mentorship:


Each Broaden Program intern will be assigned an EMD Serono contact person who will provide day-to-day and project support and guidance through the summer term


Additionally, each Broaden intern will be assigned an onboarding buddy to provide additional support


4)    Eligibility:


Must be pursuing a graduate degree or post-doctoral training in, life sciences, medicine, nursing, pharmacy, biostatistics, or bioengineering.


This role does not offer sponsorship for work authorization. External applicants must be eligible to work in the US. Open to remote internships for non-Boston-based candidates.
