Dear SMDP Community,

SMDP Alumni Regional Chapters and Hubs

 As the SMDP Alumni Network continues to grow, we are beginning to organize regional Alumni Chapters and Hubs to help strengthen connections across the community.

These chapters and hubs will be led by alumni and will serve as local points of connection for the network. They will support informal gatherings, networking events, and professional development discussions, making it easier for alumni to stay engaged and connected within their region.

We are excited to share that Los Angeles already has an active hub, and a Boston chapter is currently in development! Additional regions will be announced soon. If you are interested in leading a region or being actively involved, please contact SMDP Alumni Steering Committee Regional Chapter Lead Eden Faneuff at chapterslead@smdpnetwork.org

Healthy compartmentalization 

The most popular advice out there for busy professionals is “don’t take work home” or that we should “separate our personal life from our professional life.” In reality, that is easier said than done, isn’t it? If something stressful happens at work, it follows you into your evening. If something difficult is happening at home, it sits in the back of your mind during meetings. We are human after all. We do not switch off parts of ourselves just because the setting changes.
