Here's this week's SMDP Mentor Moment Asking for a raise
Asking for a raise is uncomfortable because it forces us to talk about money, our value and expectations all at once. Even when you know you have been doing good work, even when your responsibilities have grown, there are still those thoughts in your head about whether you are valued as much as you think you should be or whether they think you are worth it. Turning what you know into a direct conversation is not that easy. What if it changes how you are seen? What if the answer is no? What if it sounds ungrateful? These are all the doubts that pop up when you start stressing about asking.
