Hi SMDP alum!

Nominations are now being accepted for the SMDP Alumni Steering Committee. This committee is a key step in building a sustainable and connected alumni-led community. To support the launch of this network, four alumni have been appointed to foundational roles on the committee. They will help establish the structure and processes needed to guide the SMDP Alumni Network forward.

Purpose of the Steering Committee
• Assist regional and local alumni hubs in coordinating events and activities
• Promote consistent communication and transparency across the network
• Support alumni engagement in mentoring, career development, and other opportunities
• Help foster a sense of ongoing connection and collaboration among alumni

There are three open positions available for nomination:

Finance Lead – Oversees the alumni budget, allocates resources to events and initiatives, and tracks sources and uses of funds.Curriculum & Development Committee Lead – Leads the design of peer-to-peer mentoring initiatives, coordinates professional development sessions, and supports alumni career growth.Alumni Data & Technology Lead – Oversees the alumni contact and mentoring portal, encourages regular updates, tracks participation in events, and supports digital tools used by the alumni program.

If you are interested in serving, please complete the nomination form by Thursday, October 30, 2025. You will be asked to provide your name, SMDP cohort, selected role, a brief biography, and a short statement on your interest in serving.

These are self-nominated volunteer positions, and the roles will be filled through an open election process. Once all nominations have been received, a ballot will be sent out to all alumni.
