There will be moments when you wonder if you’ve lost something along the way. Maybe you miss how carefree you used to be, or you start thinking life was simpler before “all this trouble”. But sometimes that’s just you remembering a version of yourself who had not yet faced what you have now gone through. You were not necessarily happier back then, so why would you want to go back to a version of yourself that didn’t know what you know now? You’ve seen things, learned hard truths, made decisions that stretched you and you’ve survived moments that would have broken the old you.
You have changed because you had to and you are not going backwards. You have also learnt things that forced you to shift how you move and you are in a much better place now. It's okay to miss who you used to be, but don’t forget how much you have had to carry to become who you are now. You are wiser, more thoughtful, more honest and much nicer to yourself. That is something that deserves to be appreciated and honored.
