It’s easy to romanticize a job you haven’t started yet. From the outside, it looks like everything you’ve wanted. But every job, no matter how well matched, comes with friction. You’ll still have to work with difficult personalities, navigate change, deal with setbacks and face parts of yourself you’d rather avoid.
That doesn’t mean you picked wrong. You’re just in a role that expects something of you. And the way you respond, either with curiosity, resilience or openness, might be what makes the job feel good, not the job itself.
