How do you react to feedback?

Section 2 : Separate the feedback from yourself

40%

One of the biggest challenges in receiving feedback is taking it personally. We often see feedback as a reflection of our self-worth, especially when it’s negative. However, it’s important to remember that feedback is about your actions or performance, not about you as a person. Separating the feedback from yourself allows you to focus on what can be improved without feeling attacked or discouraged.

For instance, if you’ve been told that your presentation skills need work, this doesn’t mean you’re a bad presenter or incapable. It just indicates that there’s room for improvement in how you communicate your ideas. Viewing feedback objectively can help you grow without becoming overly critical of yourself. When you separate feedback from personal feelings, it becomes easier to see it for what it truly is - a tool for your development.
