We often shy away from asking for support or feedback out of fear of seeming incompetent, or due to our egos, especially when we see others around us already succeeding. We need to realize that no one succeeds alone without support and guidance from those who have been there before us. We must abandon the mentality that our problems are unique and that no one else will understand or has gone through the exact same thing before. Feedback and support from mentors, peers and advisors are invaluable for overcoming barriers. Once you seek it, you might be surprised at how much in common your struggles are with the people you look up to. Surround yourself with a network of individuals who can provide guidance, share experiences and offer different perspectives.
Mentors with industry experience for example, can offer insights and advice on navigating challenges you may encounter. Peer groups and networking events provide opportunities to learn from others facing similar obstacles and gain new ideas.
Don’t hesitate to ask for help when needed. Whether it’s seeking advice, delegating tasks, or collaborating with others, leveraging the support of your network can significantly ease the burden of obstacles.
