Don’t fret if you don’t hear back immediately. Your email likely arrived along with dozens of other applicants. Give employers time to sort through the stack. Following up too quickly may be considered rude or overzealous.

Wait a week or two, and then send a follow-up, referencing your original email. Don’t repeat the points you made the first time. Simply restate your excitement about the position and ask for a conversation at the employer’s earliest convenience.
