Emailing a potential employer

Section 4 : Distinguish yourself, but not too much

80%

It’s vital to highlight features that set you apart from the crowd. However, you don’t want to stand out too much. It’s important to give the employer the sense that you’ll integrate easily with the company’s culture and work well with others. You don’t want to come off as a maverick (unless that’s a plus in your vocation.)

Discuss Relevant Successes
If you already have real-world experience under your belt, be sure to mention it. And be specific. Generalizations read more like fluff. Employers are interested in concrete examples that drove measurable success.

Keep it short, however. Two or three sentences are all that’s required. Leave them wanting more information, and they’ll call you to get it.
