About your biggest weaknesses

Section 2 : Choose weaknesses with a positive aspect

66%

You don’t want to pretend a positive is a negative, but at the same time, it’s good to avoid particularly damning faults. To balance these competing priorities, choose weaknesses that have both positive and negative aspects. This strategy has the benefit of honesty while providing a positive escape valve. An example might be:

“I sometimes get nervous in large meetings and don’t participate as much as I could. On the plus side, that means I listen more intently, but the group doesn’t always get the benefit of my experience.”

By providing a positive and negative perspective, you give the interviewer the honest self-reflection they’re looking for while softening any unfavorable aspects of your weakness.
