Create your own profile and show off your skills. Manage your member profile and photo, update your professional biography, set your communication preferences, and more.

Request a mentor
When you indicate on your profile that you are seeking a mentor, you have the opportunity to be mentored by a SMDP alumni. With your mentor, you'll develop a Personalized Mentoring Plan which includes goals and action items designed to prepare you for a career in the medical technology, biotechnology or consumer healthcare industries.

Once you are paired with a SMDP alumni mentor, you will be able to communicate directly with your mentor and carry out your virtual mentoring plan for a year, aided by the SMDP Mentoring Portal, a web-based tool that supports mentor-mentee collaboration and communication.

Access Mentor Moments
SMDP Mentor Moments are brief online career lessons provided at no cost to you when you have created a Gateway profile. Gateway members receive access to a new career focused Mentor Moment each Wednesday, augmenting 6 distinct themes: Career; Communication; Goals; Mentoring; Mindset; Networking.

View and learn about industry careers as we highlightthe career achievements of the SMDP Scholars and SMDP Alumni. Gain insight from the careers and explore the variety of career trajectories you can pursue in the biotech, medtech and consumer healthcare industries.

Search for jobs
As part of SMDP Gateway, you'll have exclusive access to job postings in the biotechnology, medical technology and consumer healthcare industries.

Project pages
Publish, brand and promote your work, products, projects or company. Project sites include a custom URLS so you can use it as a free web page.

IS THERE ANY COST TO JOIN SMDP GATEWAY?
No, there is no cost to join SMDP Gateway and there is no application. Anyone can create a profile and start accessing SMDP Gateway.

CAN I JOIN GATEWAY IF I AM NOT AN UNDERREPRESENTED MINORITY?
SMDP Gateway members are any ethnicity.

I HAVE NOT YET COMPLETED MY DEGREE, CAN I STILL JOIN SMDP GATEWAY?
Yes, completing your degree is not a requirement for joining the SMDP Gateway.

HOW LONG WILL I BE ABLE TO ACCESS THE MENTOR MOMENT CONTENT?
Once a Mentor Moment has been released it is saved permanently on the SMDP portal. All Gateway members continue to have access to Mentor Moments for as long as you maintain your Gateway membership.

WILL I HAVE TO PAY ANYTHING EXTRA TO ACCESS MENTOR MOMENTS?
There is no extra cost to access any of the content on the SMDP portal for Gateway members. Gateway members are able to access Mentor Moments but cannot contribute or comment on content.

CAN I SHARE THE MENTOR MOMENT CONTENT WITH OTHER PEOPLE THAT I WORK WITH OR GO TO SCHOOL WITH?
The SMDP portal is designed to be accessed by individual SMDP Gateway community members and SMDP portal users. You can invite your friends or colleagues to visit the SMDP portal where they can join the Gateway community or apply to become SMDP Scholars.

DO THE MENTOR MOMENT TOPICS INCLUDE ANY DOWNLOADABLE MATERIALS?
Yes, some of the SMDP Mentor Moments include downloadable documents and tools designed to enhance your ability to learn and retain the knowledge, as well as implement the career training.

HOW MUCH CONTENT IS INCLUDED WITH EACH MENTOR MOMENT?
SMDP Mentor Moments vary in length and the content differs, however they're designed to be concise and comprehensive. You should be able to review each topic in less than 15 minutes.

CAN I REVIEW A MENTOR MOMENT MORE THAN ONCE?
You can search for and review any of the SMDP Mentor Moments at any time. You can also save topics for future review or return to a Mentor Moment topic to see if additional content has been contributed to the topic.
