What is the highest degree you have earned and what can you tell us about your academic path?

I hold a Ph.D. from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. I pursued my Ph.D. directly after completing my undergraduate studies at the University of Puerto Rico, Ponce Campus.

Where do you work now and what is your company about?

I work at Good Molecules, which focuses on creating effective skincare solutions with scientifically-backed ingredients, all offered at affordable prices to ensure accessibility.

How did you first learn about the company?

I first learned about the company while in grad school when I was trying skincare options to address my hyperpigmentation.

What do you like most about the company?

I like the environment and my co-workers. Everyone is genuinely nice on a personal level and motivated in their professional pursuits. It serves as a great inspiration.

What skills make you successful in your role and why did you choose this role?

For the scientific writer role, the skills that contribute to my success include a strong understanding of science and scientific methods, excellent writing and grammar, and the ability to interpret and present data visually (tables, graphs) while maintaining attention to detail and compliance. I chose this role because I genuinely enjoy planning experiments, interpreting scientific data, and communicating it in a way that people can understand.

How do you define success?

For me, professional success means doing a job that benefits more than just myself while allowing for personal growth and a satisfying work-life balance.

What's the most fulfilling aspect of your job?

Working together with amazing people to deliver outstanding science to the research community and everyone who uses our products!

What advice do you have for students and job seekers?

Keep believing in your journey to find the perfect job that aligns with your needs and aspirations. It's on its way to you; just stay patient and continue to give it your all, even when the road feels challenging. Remember, it's okay to feel overwhelmed sometimes, but try to stay positive!

What book did you read last?

I find that I enjoy listening to books more than reading them, especially since I spend so much time reading for work. Right now, I'm diving into the Kingsbridge series by Ken Follett, and I just love how rich and detailed the stories are! I even have the board game!
