Why is it we ignore the small wins just because they don’t feel significant enough? We brush them off and downplay them or even forget they happened. But these are wins. Responding to that one email you were avoiding, showing up to the meeting even when you felt really off, getting through a task you had been dreading and even trying again after a setback. These don’t get celebrated enough, but they matter. The best way to celebrate is by actually noticing them when they happen and giving yourself credit.

You can’t keep waiting for a huge breakthrough to be proud of yourself because those don’t happen often. Some days you just need to get through the day and tell yourself “I did good today” and “that’s enough for today.” You shouldn’t need to do everything at once to feel accomplished. And you don’t need to wait for someone else to say it either. Because you’re doing better than you think and you should be the first to acknowledge that.
