Strategic under commitment

Section 3 : Measure by outcomes, not effort

100%

We’re conditioned to equate hard work with value, but effort doesn’t always equal impact. Say there’s a group of you and you are overextending yourself by working on multiple minor studies, making incremental progress across numerous projects. Contrast that with someone else in the group who focuses intensely on a single, groundbreaking research initiative. This person achieves more by dedicating their efforts to a high-impact study.

Strategic under commitment is about being results-driven, not activity-driven. This for example, could mean prioritizing a critical clinical trial or a pivotal development project over smaller, less impactful tasks. Focusing on outcomes rather than appearances will allow you to achieve more significant advancements with less stress, leading to greater satisfaction and more meaningful progress.
