Remain teachable

Section 2 : Seek out diverse learning opportunities

40%

Remaining teachable involves recognizing that learning opportunities are abundant and diverse. While many often consider formal education as the foundation of knowledge, insights can be gained from various sources such as books, podcasts, online courses, workshops and seminars. It's essential however, to also understand that lessons aren't confined to just these structured alternative formats either. Everyday experiences and interactions can offer valuable wisdom. For instance, observing a child's ability to let go of things can teach us important lessons about resilience and adaptability. It may seem like a simple example, but maintaining a mindset willing to learn from the simple experiences in life, despite our level of experience and achievement, helps us stay humble and open to learning. Similarly, collaborating with a colleague from a different field can provide unique perspectives and innovative solutions that you might not have considered within your own discipline.

Additionally, in this digital age, access to information and experiences is virtually limitless. Through virtual conferences, online professional networks and cross-disciplinary research, we can immerse ourselves in different cultures, perspectives and knowledge domains. Thus, remaining teachable also involves exploring the vastness of the world's knowledge and being open to learning from a multitude of sources beyond the conventional.
