Why you need a personalized mentoring plan

Section 1 : Meeting Schedules and Formats

33%

Mentors and mentees should decide on the times and format of their conversations to ensure there’s agreement with their existing schedules and preferences. Without formalizing these things ahead of time, the mentee might assume that a text message is okay without realizing their mentor doesn’t read them or that Thursdays are available when, in fact, they’re not.

Putting the mentorship’s schedule down on your mentoring plan allows both parties to plan ahead. It also ensures that the meetings happen regularly. When you eschew a formal schedule in favor of one that’s decided on the fly week to week, there’s a much better chance that a scheduling conflict could prevent you from meeting.
