Master context switching

Section 3 : Limit transitions, not possibilities

100%

Switching between too many things at once can dilute your effectiveness. The goal is not to avoid switching altogether but to manage the frequency and complexity of your transitions. Group similar tasks together when possible and use tools or systems to keep your workload manageable.

Picture an operations coordinator for instance, balancing planning, problem-solving and guiding their team members. Rather than alternating between these roles hourly, they might dedicate a morning to planning, an afternoon to guiding team members and set specific slots for addressing unexpected challenges. Structuring their day this way reduces unnecessary transitions while staying responsive to all responsibilities.
