Developing Novel Systems Serology Assays

Antibodies aid in the clearance of pathogens. Antibodies can directly neutralize viruses by impeding their entry into host cells. Antibodies may also activate other immune effectors to aid in viral clearance. Isotype, subclass, Fc, and Fab regions influence antibody function. Systems serology comprises a suite of assays to survey antibodies' various biophysical and functional features. My objective was to develop a protocol for the simultaneous detection of antibody isotype, subclass, Fc-receptor affinity, and antigen specificity using a multiplexed Luminex assay. As well as to understand the purpose, laboratory methods, and analyses for evaluating antibody-mediated effector functions in vitro
