The idea that everything you do should be tied to purpose and that if you are not feeling inspired or fulfilled, then something needs to change is understandable. It comes from a desire to live meaningfully. Yes, purpose matters, but not everything has to feel profound all the time. Sometimes you are just tired and maybe you simply need some rest. When we are running low, even the things we usually enjoy will start to feel like a chore.
You don’t have to quit, or reinvent your life, or make a drastic change. Maybe what you need is to stop expecting yourself to be “on” all the time. In life, we will always go through periods when the things we have dedicated our time, our lives to, feel meaningless. If we make big changes every time we have these moments, then we risk walking away from things that still matter to us just because they didn’t feel right in a passing moment.
